A big splash to help CANSA
Munnik Marais of CANSA said the funds will be utilised towards research.
The owners of a local water resort decided to splash some of their profit on a local organisation.
Pines Resort raised R52 510 for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) during October 2019. The month is also known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month when numerous campaigns are run throughout the country to increase awareness of the disease. Munnik Marais of CANSA said the funds will be utilised towards research.
“We would like to thank Pines Resort for giving a percentage of the gate entries to CANSA,” Munnik said while accepting the cheque from Pines Resort owner Geoff Funnel recently.
Since 1931, CANSA has been a leader in the fight against cancer in SA. Its purpose is to offer a unique, integrated service to the public and to all people affected by cancer. It’s mission is to be the preferred non-profit leader that enables research with regards to lowering cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms, screening and risk reduction, and providing care and support to all people affected by cancer.
