A little goes a long way

Honeyfield Charity gives food to the less fortunate – often their only meal of the day.

Every Sunday evening, Honeyfield Charity prepares food for the less fortunate, not allowing them to go to sleep with an empty stomach and leaving them with hope for a brighter day.

Ann Bezuidenhout, organiser and founder of Honeyfield, said they have been doing this for a year now. They have identified houses within the CBD that they provide food for.

“All the people from Grace House and the Tower of Life Shelter come to us and we give them what we have. We want to help out of the goodness of our hearts,” Ann said.

Boys Mashaba, who usually comes to them for food, said he depends on them and have been getting assistance from Honeyfield for quite some time.

Honeyfield Charity said they do the best they can to help people in need.

Ann uses money from her own pocket to make sure that this continues. They do not have sponsors at the moment; however, they have been getting assistance from Andre van Zyl, who works for Intelli Drive.

“It’s really hard for Ann as she is just a pensioner who does amazing things in the community. We would love if people could assist the charity with nonperishable items,” Andre told the News.

To donate non-perishable items, call Ann Bezuidenhout on 082 378 1395 or send an email to honeyfield123@gmail.com.
