The Kagiso Police have released a statement saying they launched a manhunt after a woman was gang-raped behind Kagiso Mall.
The incident happened on Sunday, 8 March at about 7.30pm.
The statement sent by Kagiso Police’s spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya explained that the woman was walking behind the mall when two men started following her.
One of the men walked up to her and grabbed her arm before snatching her handbag from her. In the handbag were cash, a cellphone and other personal belongings.
The two men then pushed the woman to the ground and both of them raped her.
The Kagiso Police are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or knows the whereabouts of the suspects to call them on 011 696 900, 011 696 9059 or 011 696 9065. Alternatively call the Crime Stop Line on 08600 10111.
