The stars are aligned for self-published author and public speaker

Author and public speaker, Onkarabile Mokoto, speaks about his brilliant achievements and future plans.

Onkarabile Mokoto, the self-published author from Kagiso, has received numerous awards and featured in major television soapies after an article about him was published in the News in April 2018.

The author and public speaker has made a name for himself within the community of Kagiso, which has landed him numerous accolades.

“Towards the end 2018, I received an award for my work as a self-published author with Botlhale Literature Academy,” said Mokoto.

His active participation in and passion for his community got him nominated for the South African Heroes Awards and SA Men Awards 2019, an experience he will never forget.

“I got nominated because of my YouTube channel, Inspired Conversations, where I get to interact with a lot of people in my community, and also big names and actors. It was such a nice experience; I sat at the same table and had dinner with the Gauteng MEC of Education, Panyaza Lesufi, who was the then acting MEC of Social Development,” added Mokoto.

The hardworking Mokoto had the privilege to feature on major television soapies, the likes of Skeem Saam, Muvhango, Isithembiso and Generations: the Legacy. He said he was featured as an extra and he was nervous. With absolutely zero acting experience, he managed to pull himself together and do it.

Mokoto recently started a public-speaking class, where he offers writing and speaking lessons to people within and around his community. He told the News that he wants to pass on his knowledge to those who are keen on knowing the tools of writing and speaking.

“I had my first class, which was really successful. I teach everyone what I know and I aim at making a difference in their lives,” said Mokoto.

He added that he will continue writing and motivating those around him to keep going, and keep pushing until they reach their goals.
