Cradlestone Mall also gets the Shavathon treatment
Every year CANSA teams up with other organisations to raise money for the projects they run throughout the year.
Since the very first year that Cradlestone Mall opened its doors, The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Weltevreden Lions have held their annual CANSA Shavathon there to help the Association in their fight against cancer and to support patients and survivors.
Other groups also hosted Shavathons across the West Rand at locations such as Key West Shopping Centre, Clearwater Mall and Westgate Shopping Centre, raising some much-needed funds for CANSA’s projects.

Ilsa Burnett from Lions Clubs International and Corrie Botes from CANSA joined hands on Saturday, 29 February to spray some community members’ hair all kinds of funky colours, and to shave others’ hair. Adults paid R50 and children R25 to show their support. All the proceeds will be used for CANSA’s work among those affected by cancer.

On a day like this, Ilsa and Corrie usually spray or shave about 200 people.
