CCCO still helping 3 000 people during lockdown

Many of these families are exposed to the worst of the worst. They don't have the luxury to stock up on extra food, medicine or sanitizers.

Over 3 000 children, families and other community members in need are helped by Cross Connect Community Outreach (CCCO) workers weekly.

As of midnight on Thursday, 26 March the entire nation is on lockdown to help combat the Covid-19 pandemic. But, organisations such as the CCCO still need to function. If they don’t, the people in their care could go hungry during this time.

“CCCO’s focus is to partner with local churches, organisations, government, businesses and individuals to facilitate transformation in communities by changing children’s lives,” executive director, Pastor Kyle Tolman explained.

They will continue to function as best they can during this time, but still need help from the community. More than always, the CCCO is in dire need of non-perishable food such as maize, beans and more; toiletries like soap and shampoo; and medical supplies such as gloves, masks and other protective wear.

Kyle added that, “Many of these families are exposed to the worst of the worst. They don’t have the luxury to stock up on extra food, medicine or sanitizers. The next few weeks will be extremely tough on every family. Every one of the 3 000 has a name and a story.”
