Select few get a sneak peek at BBC Earth’s new series

BBC Earth recently had a screening of their upcoming series at the Cradle Boutique Hotel in Muldersdrift.

The Cradle Boutique Hotel recently hosted a special screening of the BBC Earth’s new series, Seven Worlds, One Planet.

A lucky few had the chance to take a sneak peek at this seven-part series that visits places like China, Tennessee, Iran and the Andes, to name a few.

On 7 March the Pavilion at the Cradle Boutique Hotel was beautifully set up for the screening of the African episode of this series. Those gathered were also treated to a special performance by the Ndlovu Youth Choir and once inside the tent, the choir also sang their rendition of Out there.

The song is a collaboration between the Australian singer, Sia and composer, Hans Zimmer.

Sir David Attenborough narrates the series and viewers can look forward to watching new forms of animal behaviour and even meet a new animal species.

The series took 1 794 days to film and 1 500 people worldwide worked on it. The teams shot more than 2 260 hours of footage and did 92 shoots in 41 countries.

After the screening the audience got the opportunity to ask executive producer, Johnny Keeling some questions about the series.

He explained that he was excited about the new technology that was used to film it, including drones.

“We used drones and we took them everywhere; we used them at night and in caves,” he explained.

Johnny talked about seeing the last two Northern white rhinos on Earth and knowing that when they die, an animal species that walked the Earth will be gone forever.

He also explained how they got so close to the animals and how locals helped a lot to find and track the animals.

Johnny ended by saying; “I want people to fall in love with the natural world and then want to do something to help”.

If you want to watch this amazing new series, it will be airing on Sunday, 29 March at 4pm on BBC Earth, DStv channel 184.
