Gauteng Province reports 897 recoveries from Covid-19
A total number of 67 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stands at 1 377 as of Tuesday, 28 April with 897 recoveries and 8 deaths reported.
Out of a total of 8 299 contacts traced, 5 577 people have completed the 14-day monitoring period with no symptoms reported and they have now been de-isolated.
A total number of 67 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.
Three staff members in the Bronkhorstspruit Hospital in Tshwane have tested positive for Covid-19. Staff and in-patients in the facility have been tested and are awaiting results.
Eight staff members of J Dumane clinic in Ekhuruleni have also tested positive for Covid-19. The facility has been disinfected and the remaining staff members have tested negative.
The breakdown per district is as follows:
- Johannesburg – 811 cases with 589 recoveries
- Ekhuruleni – 310 cases with 179 recoveries
- Tshwane – 144 cases with 95 recoveries
- Sedibeng – 15 cases with 5 recoveries
- West Rand – 43 cases with 29 recoveries
- Unallocated cases – 54
