They responded to the scene where they found the paramedics who informed them that the victim had been stabbed in her upper body

Kagiso Police arrested two female suspects aged 18 and 23 respectively on 8 May, after a woman was attacked and stabbed to death at the Soul City informal settlement.

According to a statement by the Kagiso Police spokesperson, the Sector Police officers were conducting their routine patrols when they received a complaint of murder from Soul City.

They responded to the scene where they found the paramedics who informed them that the victim had been stabbed in her upper body. The murder weapon was also found next to the woman’s body and confiscated.

The police conducted preliminary investigations on the scene that led to the two suspects’ arrest. They were later detained at Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of murder was opened. The motive for the murder is being investigated.

The Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Themba Maduba expressed shock and disappointment when he arrived at the scene of the crime. ?We expect women to look after each other and report any form of violence directed at them, especially during this lockdown period.

We want to applaud our members for their swift response and excellent work that led to the successful arrest of the suspects in such a short space of time,? said Maduba.
