Still time to enter lockdown photo competition

There are three categories, for primary school learners, for high school learners, and for students and adults

The Krugersdorp Camera Club (KCC) is inviting all residents to celebrate their 90th birthday with them by taking part in their Lockdown Photography Competition.

They invite all Krugersdorp residents to share their surroundings and home during the national #lockdown period.

How it works:

Entries must be in by 31 May. You can select a panel of 10 photographs that tell the KCC about your experience during the lockdown.

There are three categories, for primary school learners, for high school learners, and for students and adults.

A panel of qualified judges will judge the photographs, and choose a winner in each category.

Submit photographs in the following format:

a. JPEG file format

b. File size may not exceed 2MB

c. Images must be resized to a maximum of 1 920 pixels on the horizontal axis, or a maximum of 1 080 pixels on the vertical axis

Images can be sent via www.wetransfer.com (free option) to info@kameraklub.co.za, or you can email them directly to the same email address (depending on size).

  • Images must be named: [Name Surname]
  • Image 1 to [Name Surname]
  • Image 10

The following information must be included in your entry:

a. Name and surname

b. #lockdown

c. Category (Primary School Scholar/ High School Scholar/ Students and Adults)

d. Suburb where you live

Enter between now and 31 May.

Winners will be announced at the end of July.

Entrants into the primary and high school categories stand a chance to win R300 cash from Oasis Water; a voucher for photo prints from Foto First; have their photo published in the Krugersdorp News; and to have their panel displayed at the Krugersdorp Camera Club’s 90th Celebration Exhibition in September 2020.

Rules are as follows:

1. All photographs must be taken at your home, indoors or in your garden. Please do not travel to capture any photographs.

2. Participants are required to submit 10 photographs at the end of the competition. If more than 10 photographs are submitted, only the first 10 will be judged.

3. All photographs must be taken during the national lockdown. Photographs taken before 27 March 2020 will not be considered.

4. Participants can be creative in terms of the type of photography, such as family, interior, product, pets, landscapes, macro as well as drone photography.

5. Participants are not allowed to submit any form of boudoir photography, or fine-art nude photography, which will result in immediate disqualification.

6. No signatures or watermarks are allowed on photographs.

7. Participants can use any form of photography device such as mobiles, mirrorless cameras, drones and DSLR cameras.

8. The use of stock photography from the internet or the use of another person?s images will result in immediate disqualification.
