A sneak peek at artist’s upcoming EP

His work has landed him a nomination for the 011 Awards

A recording and performing artist from Kagiso, Bandile Jnr Zondi, also known by his stage name J-SIX, will be releasing his EP (extended play or medium-length album) by the end of June.

It is a six-song album inspired by the fun of a long weekend, making memories with family, friends and lovers, in different locations.

“LngWknd is a ride back into the early 2000s, when kwaito music was still the hottest genre in South Africa. It speaks of those moments in life, and determine how good one life is. Do you remember how happy you were the last time you had a long weekend”

That feeling of the fun times is what I have for you on this EP,” said J-SIX.

First from the EP is a recently released track, Special being, a song with a kwaito, house and Afro beat to set the tone of the EP.

This track describes the fortune of finding a person who you can say is special enough to fully love without conditions.Bandile wrote this beautiful song from a special place in his heart as a reflection of him still believing in the power of love.

“If you believe there is a special being for you out there, then this is a song to play for them, or to wish them closer,” said J-SIX.

His last music project, Call me when you are done missing out got him a lot of airtime from radio stations such as Vow FM, Metro FM, Merafong FM and QwaQwa FM.

His work has landed him a nomination for the 011 Awards.

“I have been nominated for the second time. In 2019 I was nominated Best Newcomer and this year I have been nominated for Hustler of The Year,” he said.

The main event has been cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, but it will be streamed live here on 6 June.

“I would really appreciate people’s support and hope to bring the Award to the West Rand,” J-SIX told the News.To vote for him, SMS 011 J SIX to 35029; free SMSes do not apply.
