Help needed! Feeding the poor and hungry never stops

Imagine going to bed tonight without anything to eat? Imagine you had nothing to eat for the whole weekend? Imagine your children had nothing to eat?

“If you can’t imagine this, it means you are blessed,” Kyle Tolman, founder of the Cross Connect Community Outreach (CCCO) organisation said in a Facebook post.

Kyle and his team work extremely hard to get food from the shops into hundreds of families’ hands and mouths. The need never stops and never subsides; in fact, it just gets worse.

“The families that we serve have lost everything. They lost their jobs, hope and dignity. We encourage families by providing what they require physically, but also pray and encourage them spiritually.

Worker at the organisation, Stehan Strauss, is happy to help while wearing his mask.

“We often forget God’s goodness when we go about our own lives; when we continue to eat lavish meals and buy trolleys full of food without worrying how to pay for it; when we continue our lives with abundance without a worry of what is going on in our own community. Kyle’s heart is broken by this, and he and his team are left in so much pain.

“Imagine everything you have being taken away in seconds? This is the reality for so many families. They don’t have the luxury to go and bulk-buy. They don’t even have the luxury to go and buy at all. They rely so heavily on any food that they can get their hands on just so that they can feed their family.

But Kyle and his team pick up the pieces and rely on their faith to get them through.

“God has a special concern for the poor. Providing for the poor is not just a suggestion in the Bible, it is a command that may require a change of attitude.” Kyle and his team need your help, and you can assist from the comfort of you own home.

“We need your help to continue feeding families in desperate need. Every family has a name. They have a story. You may be surprised how close they live to you.”
