
Detectives at Kagiso Police Station arrested a 28-year-old murder suspect in Tshepisong recently.
According to a statement by Kagiso Police, sector police were in the area in November 2019 at about 5pm, when they received a complaint of an accident in Phase 6 of Tshepisong.
At the given address they found that three motor vehicles had been involved in the accident. One of the drivers allegedly got out of his damaged motor vehicle and tried to flee from the accident scene.
The driver of one of the other vehicles also involved in the collision tried to stop him, but instead he drew a firearm and shot the person who was trying to stop him. The gun-shot victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The alleged shooter managed to flee from the scene on foot, and had been on the run until detectives managed to trace and finally arrest him during one of the West Rand District Police’s weekly Okae Molao operations.
He was detained at Kagiso Police Station and a case docket of murder re-opened.
The station commander of the Kagiso Police, Brigadier Themab Maduna, applauded the members for an excellent job.
“You have done a sterling job, and that has been noted even by our highest authorities. I am proud of you; keep it up,” said Maduna.agiso Police are continuing their investigations.
