The Gauteng Department of Health has seen an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases across hospitals over the last 14 days

The Gauteng Department of Health has reported that the West Rand has 2 247 confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of 27 June with 543 recoveries.

Mogale City accounts for 1 072 of these cases with 148 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed cases in Gauteng is 34 285 with 8 580 recoveries and 166 deaths.

Out of a total of 27 251 contacts traced within the province, 17 323 people have completed the 14-day monitoring period with no symptoms and have now been de-isolated.

A total number of 1 332 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.

The Gauteng Department of Health has seen an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases across hospitals over the last 14 days which resulted in high demand for oxygen and ventilators.

As more Covid-19 cases are reported, the number of admissions and bed occupancy rates for clinical patients has increased which has put more pressure on ventilator, oxygen points and oxygen supplies.
