Husky rescue facility in desperate need

After six years of keeping Nordic going, they can no longer do this on their own.

A shelter for Huskies in Tarlton urgently needs assistance, or will be facing closure in the very near future.”Our situation has become desperate,” their plea on their Facebook page reads, “… with the possibility of facing closing, the rescue needs urgent help”.

Nordic Rescue is a shelter where a small group of like-minded networkers took their passion for the Husky breed and its welfare to new heights. They help those that are lost and those that are found, and assist those that need homes and offer comfort to those that have been abandoned.

Nordic Rescue relies on foster care and kennelling for their rescues. “Our kennels are a safe haven for the dogs that have nowhere to go and no place to call home. Our volunteers are the temporary family for the dogs and share precious moments with our rescues. They give them attention, treats and go for runs while the dogs, in return give them all the love and exercise they can handle.”The situation with Covid-19 has now become a massive problem in keeping Nordic going. After six years of keeping Nordic going, they can no longer do this on their own, without help they will have to make the heartbreaking decision to call it the end for their rescues.

“There is a long outstanding vet bill of R6 000 which we are unable to settle. Our Huskies mean the world to us, which makes this posting extremely difficult … they are super awesome looking Huskies, they have had the best care from us and from the boarding facility, and we can’t let them down without trying to get assistance. We have looked at every option to keep going, but it’s just becoming too impossible.” Anyone is welcome to message them on 082 927 4222 for further information.
