Community says goodbye to one of their beloved doctors
He leaves behind his daughter Alma Lindeque and his son Danie Steyn, as well as 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The community has been hard hit by the news of the passing of local general practitioner, Doctor Daniel Wynand Steyn.
For more than 60 years, Steyn had been a beloved general practitioner and integral part of the community. He spent 23 of these years as part of the Medicross Krugersdorp team. Medicross released a statement to pay tribute to this amazing man. “His loss is deeply felt by his former colleagues,” said Dr Billy van der Merwe, the managing director of Netcare’s Primary Care division, of which Netcare Medicross is a subsidiary. Steyn, who passed away on Sunday, 28 June at the age of 93, used to enjoy reading about historical events, woodwork and gardening.
“Dr Steyn was a much loved and highly respected doctor, and he is fondly remembered by his colleagues and the patients he treated with such care and consideration throughout his many years of service at the facility. We extend our deepest condolences to Dr Steyn’s family at this very sad time,” said Van der Merwe.
The loss of Dr Steyn is not only felt by his community. He also leaves behind his daughter Alma Lindeque and his son Danie Steyn, as well as 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Steyn’s memorial service was live-streamed from the AFM Noordheuwel church and comments from the community on the Facebook post of his passing showed just how loved he was.

He has been described as a role model, a humble man, and a person who has left a legacy and his footprints in the hearts of many.
