Church of Scientology of South Africa on how much work was done, including here in Mogale to combat Covid-19. They encourage others to keep playing their part in this fight.
The President of the Church of Scientology of South Africa released important statistics on 7 July covering the extent of the volunteer work that the Scientology Volunteer Ministers have done since lockdown has hit the country 100 days ago.
According to Sandile Hlayisi, Public Affairs Director for Scientology Volunteer Ministers, Mogale City was one of the many towns they helped to clean.
“We have been decontaminating facilities in Mogale City, including Krugersdorp Home Affairs, the Mogale City Youth Centre, and the Krugersdorp Fire Station to name a few. We also trained the mayor on how to decontaminate,” Hlayisi said.
Being concerned by the pandemic and the fact that the situation is worsening in winter, Gaetane Asselin, President of the Church revealed how much work has been done to combat Covid-19 to encourage others to keep playing their part in this fight. She summarised what the work represented.
Since day one, our priority has always been to assist essential services – those who kept the country together, the most vulnerable and the hardest hit by this.
“This is why the Volunteer Ministers went as far as they did until now.”

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have decontaminated the following areas:
• Over 10 000 buildings, including many government buildings and the hundreds of buildings they are responsible for, such as shelters for the homeless, elderly homes, orphanages, municipality buildings and more
• Nearly 300 000 taxis, ambulances, Metro Police cars and fire trucks
• Tens of thousands of buses during night shift so millions of commuters can be safer when they travel to work
Of the one million hygiene booklets with basic tips on how people can protect themselves against Covid-19 that have been translated in Zulu, Xhosa and Sotho, over 600 000 have been distributed so far.

Asselin added that this represented 15 hours a day of work and seven days a week for the last 100 days for hundreds of volunteers.
She said the Scientology Volunteer Ministers have donated 250 000 hours of volunteer work, all at their own cost just to safeguard essential services and their community.
It is tough. But we are thrilled to have been able to assist in that way. Millions appreciated beyond words the work done and that keeps us going.”
Asselin stood tall as she explained how much the Volunteer Ministers have done.
“We have all been trained by the Volunteer Ministers technology of L Ron Hubbard, which keeps us going in these difficult times. It gives us the certainty to do even more.”
