Five people were killed and one was injured after a light motor vehicle and bakkie collided on the R512 near Lanseria Airport on Friday morning, 10 July.

Netcare 911 responded just after 7am.

According to Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 spokesperson, “Reports from the scene indicate that a car and bakkie had been involved in what appears to be a head on collision.

Five patients from the car had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene.

“One patient from the bakkie had sustained serious injuries and was treated and transported by private ambulance to hospital for further treatment.”
