Car crashes into pole, bursts into flames: Two killed

Two people were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a pole and burst into flames on Thursday night.

Two people were killed when their light motor vehicle crashed into a pole and burst into flames on the M13 in Krugersdorp on Thursday night (16 July).

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 8pm to find the West Rand Fire Services already in attendance.

“A smouldering light motor vehicle was found parked on the side of the road.”

Two bodies were lying inside the vehicle.

“Medics assessed the victims and found that both had already succumbed to their injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
