Biker thrown off bike, seriously injured

A 22-year-old man was left seriously injured when he was thrown off his motorbike on the R563 in Maropeng on Sunday morning, 19 July.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said they arrived on the scene to find the man lying next to his motorbike on the side of the road.

“Medics quickly assessed him and found that he had sustained injuries to his back, leaving him in a serious condition. The man was treated and provided with pain-relief medications before he was transported to a private hospital for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
