A book to motivate this Women’s Month

To whom it may concern is a collaboration between one of Munsieville's top inspirational speakers, poets and authors, and a DJ turned singer/ songwriter taking Kagiso and South Africa by storm.

To whom it may concern … The phrase hearkens back to thoughts of an important email reaching your inbox.

That’s not very dissimilar to what DJ Grizzly Boys Mnguni and Nthabiseng Lekgetho had in mind when they started work on their book. But, instead of an email prompting you to send through important information it is a small booklet about the size of a smartphone.

Instead of it landing in your inbox, it’s something they hope you’d carry around in your pocket all day. The message is all about loving yourself and coping in the world today. With Women’s Month here, they especially want to emphasise that message to all the women going through tough times.

To whom it may concern is a collaboration between one of Munsieville’s top inspirational speakers, poets and authors, and a DJ turned singer/ songwriter taking Kagiso and South Africa by storm. Nthabiseng and DJ Grizzly have both lived colourful and full lives, and now want to teach what they’ve learned to everyone around them.

“We’re very passionate about people, especially the youth,” Nthabiseng started.

The book is meant to motivate you and help you through anything. It’s a guide for certain situations in life.”

DJ Grizzly added that, “It’s for everyone, from struggling women and people in bad relationships or marriages, to someone just going to work. We want people riding in a taxi to take out the book from their pocket, read it and know they can do anything.”

The two started working on the book about a year ago, creating four chapters (about 50 pages) filled with quotes to help any person through day to day life. From messages on love, staying strong and having inner joy in your life to the very nature of being human. The third chapter, especially, is very important to Nthabiseng.

Though she is a prominent speaker and radio presenter, she hasn’t always been so comfortable with making her voice heard. She explained that, at her core, she is quite the shy person and a nervous speaker. But, she has found ways to rise above that and to have her thoughts heard. This is what she wants to share with others, and have those who read their book attain the same confidence in life that she has.

They’ve recently finished the book, though they wish to work on the ending some more. The last chapter, as they explain it, will be affected by what the publisher wants the book to be. Currently, they’re looking for the right publisher and had been in talks with a handful, but whom they felt were not the right fit.
