Kromdraai man, 82, found safe after going missing

Missing man, 82, found safe after searching for him from Krugersdorp to Ventersdorp.

The 82-year-old Richard Brengosz of Kromdraai who had gone missing for several hours on Saturday, 1 August was found safe and sound.

Susan de Beer of AfriForum’s Krugersdorp neighbourhood watch explained that Brengosz was last seen by family at about 2.30pm that day. Later that day, family again went to pick him up for a visit, but was surprised and concerned to notice he was not at home – especially since he had known they were coming.

“At about 5.40pm we received a call from family that Brengosz was missing.”

She said after hours of searching, police eventually found him approximately 5km from the police station in Ventersdorp.

According to De Beer, Brengosz was allegedly on his way to visit a relative in hospital when he ran out of fuel. It is believed he suffers from Alzheimers, although this could not be confirmed at the time of print.

She thanked everyone who assisted in the search for Brengosz, including police, members of AfriForum’s Krugersdorp neighbourhood watch, DTRON Security, Conserv Security and Help24.
