Missing 19-year-old found safe

Gauteng Police confirm young woman was found unharmed in Rustenburg.

Bianca Ernst, 19, who went missing last week, has been found.

Captain Mavela Masondo, Gauteng Police spokesperson, confirmed to the News on Tuesday morning, 11 August that Ernst was found unharmed in a hotel in Rustenburg at about noon on Monday, 10 August.

“Members of the Tlhabane Detectives followed up on information about a person that was reported missing in Magaliesburg on Friday, 7 August. Community members spotted the woman who matched the description of the missing person, and immediately contacted the Tlhabane Police. They contacted their counterparts at the Magaliesburg Police to go and see if the person could be positively identified.

The parents of the missing woman positively identified her and she was found safe and unharmed.”

Captain Alex Mafhungo, Magaliesburg Police station commander expressed his appreciation towards the members of the public who helped the police to find the missing woman.

He further encouraged the public to be a helping hand to the police in the fight against crime, and to continue to be the eyes and ears of the police.
