Mogale City now has 6 836 confirmed cases of Covid-19
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 22 August is 13 138, with 235 deaths and 10 612 recoveries. There are 86 new cases

As at 22 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 6 836, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 5 409 people have recovered so far.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 3 432 and 2 778 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 2 842 and 2 361 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 22 August is 13 138, with 235 deaths and 10 612 recoveries. There are 86 new cases.
Since the start of the pandemic, 128 health facilities were temporarily closed as a result of confirmed Covid-19 cases. In Johannesburg, health facilities were closed for 2 to 4 hours depending on the service provider, there were instances where the closure lasted for 24-hours. Ten health facilities in the West Rand were closed during this time due to Covid-19 cases.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 10 743, with 9 443 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 205 246, with 171 839 recoveries and 3 227 deaths.
A total number of 3 230 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
