Mogale City now has 6 892 confirmed cases of Covid-19
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 24 August is 13 229, with 236 deaths and 10 733 recoveries. There are 33 new cases.
As at 24 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 6 892, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 5 463 people have recovered so far.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 3 458 and 2 787 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 2 884 and 2 386 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 10 811, with 9 502 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 206 525, with 174 248 recoveries and 3 280 deaths.
A total number of 3 232 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
