Siblings arrested for stealing from sister

Two women have been arrested for breaking into their sister's home and stealing her money.

They say you can choose your friends but not your family.

This was the case in Kagiso recently when two women were arrested for breaking into their sister’s house and stealing from her. In a statement from Kagiso Police’s spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya, he explained that they had arrested two women aged 19 and 20 in Zulu Jump, Central Kagiso on 2 September at about noon.

The victim told police that she left her house on 1 September at about 9.15am, and all the doors and windows to the property were properly closed. When she came back later she noticed that cash had gone missing.

The victim asked her next-door neighbour [if she had seen anything]. The neighbour informed her that she noticed the victim’s two sisters entering and later leaving her house,” read the statement.

Sibiya said the suspects gained entry by forcing open the door. A case of residential burglary and theft had been opened at the Kagiso Police, and the two women were sought and eventually arrested.

“The two siblings made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court,” explained Sibiya.
