A piece of history

In 2016 Shenan Cochrane released her book The History of Mulder's Drift 1850 – 2015 after spending two years talking to the last surviving members of the original families that founded Muldersdrift.

The history of Muldersdrift is a bright and bustling one.

Over the years many historical events took place in the area, and Shenan Cochrane took it upon herself to document Muldersdrift’s history.

In 2016 she released her book The History of Mulder’s Drift 1850 – 2015 after spending two years talking to the last surviving members of the original families that founded Muldersdrift, and researching old newspapers.

The release of her book coincided with Muldersdrift’s 150th birthday. She explained that living in Muldersdrift and being part of so many community organisations, she had the privilege to learn a lot about the history of the area.

With the fast-paced world we live in and many developments starting in the area, she was afraid that the history might become forgotten. So she decided to do research and create a keepsake of the vibrant history.

“I loved doing the research; I got to know each character,” she said excitedly. If you are interested in buying her book you can contact her on 083 510 4745.
