Youngsters enter home, stab man

Two young boys have been arrested following an incident in which a man was stabbed.

Two young boys were arrested on Wednesday, 1 October following an incident during which a man was stabbed.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, Kagiso Police spokesperson said the boys aged 17 and 18 from Soul City were arrested at about 1.15am following an assault incident on 19 September.

The victim told police he and his brother were asleep inside their shack in Soul City at about 3.3am when they heard a banging noise as their door was being broken down.

Four intruders suddenly entered and one of them drew a knife. He attacked and stabbed the victim in the back and face,” Sibiya said.

Luckily the victim managed to escape and flee from the shack. He was later admitted to a local hospital where he was treated for the stab wounds he had sustained to his face and upper body.

Sibiya said the four suspects had been positively identified by the victim but that two more suspects were still at large.

The 17-year-old suspect has been transferred to a youth rehabilitation institute while his 18-year-old accomplice is being detained at the Kagiso Police Station where he is facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court on 5 October.

They are appealing to anyone with information about the other two suspects’ whereabouts to call the Kagiso Police on 011 696 9000, 011 696 9059, 011 696 9065 or 011 696 9067.
