Police visit family of murdered seven-year-old boy

The Krugersdorp Police station commander visited the family of the boy who was murdered in Munsieville over the weekend.

The Krugersdorp Police led by its station commander, Brigadier Mashao and other stakeholders paid a visit to the bereaved family of a murdered child in Munsieville on Wednesday, 14 October.

A seven-year-old boy was found dead next to the Mchenguville informal settlement in Munsieville on Sunday, 11 October. Captain Raymond Sebonyane, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson said they are investigating a case of murder.

They were joined by the Detectives commander, Colonel Shibiri; the Hekpoort Police station commander, Captain Manthata; and the Wedela Police acting station commander, Warrant Officer Molepo.

Brigadier Mashao strongly condemned the incident as well as the killing of women and children in general, and appealed to the community to work with the police in the fight against gender-based violence.

Captain Sebonyane explained that the station commander and the detectives commander provided their contact info to those in attendance and a team has been tasked to investigate the boy’s death.

Police from Wadela, Hekpoort and Krugersdorp visited the family.
