Bullying between kids turn violent between parents

The victim told police that when her son came home crying after being bullied, she sent him out again to go and fight back

What started as a fight between two children quickly turned violent when parents got involved.

In a statement from Kagiso Police’s spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya he said the police were investigating a case of common assault after a woman was allegedly attacked and assaulted with a hammer on 16 October in Tshepisong West.

The victim told police that when her son came home crying after being bullied, she sent him out again to go and fight back.

“A few minutes later the mother of the child who fought with her child arrived. An argument ensued between the two women, which led to a physical fight,” Sibiya said.

Neighbours broke up the fight and the other woman then left. After a while the other woman’s husband showed up at the victim’s home and assaulted her with a hammer.

“The victim sustained head injuries in the process.”

The matter was then reported to the police but no arrests have been made yet.

The Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Themba Maduna warned men who use dangerous weapons on women and assured the community that those responsible for such crimes will be arrested.
