Krugersdorp floods: Food, furniture needed – How you can help
Many people are trying to rebuild their lives after the recent floods, and the Krugersdorp Sector 3 Community Policing Forum members are doing what they can to help these families. Here's how you can help ...
The idea of waking up to see water rushing through your home is terrifying, but even more so when you realise afterward that everything you hold dear has been destroyed.
This is what happened to some members of the Krugersdorp community when rain caused floods that swept through their homes.

As Wilma Nel from the Sector 3 Community Policing Forum (CPF) explained, people not only lost their belongings, but also precious memories like photos and letters that they held very dear.
As soon as the Sector 3 CPF members heard about their community in need, they did not think twice before they rushed to their assistance. While many donations have been received, the aftermath still needs to be dealt with.

Wilma explained that some were struggling to wash the dirt and mud from their clothes and belongings, and Sector 3 members have been helping them to clean their homes and belongings to help them return to normalcy.
On their Facebook Page the Sector 3 CPF said, “A huge thank you to Krugersdorp and the surrounding areas for the generous donations of food, clothing, bedding and household appliances. The heartfelt appreciation of the affected people is indescribable.”
However, there is still need. As the need for clothes and blankets has been met, food and cleaning supplies are now a priority. Cleaning up and removing mud from the premises are major and time-consuming tasks,” read the post.
Wilma said that most of those affected are in need of furniture as well, and they would appreciate any donations of food, cleaning or sanitary products, and especially furniture.
