A local power couple, Jacqueline and Izak Groenewald have decided to follow their dream and open their very own gym recently.

Izak holds a gold medal in bodybuilding in the Masters over 60 class, and Jacqueline holds the title of European and Universal champion in bodybuilding, and has also received her pro card. She has been competing in bodybuilding competitions for the past ten years and has a passion for fitness.

Jacqueline who opened the Supreme Being Ladies Studio in 2016 explained that their new gym, Supreme Being Fitness Gym, is just an expansion and caters for both men and women.

It has been on the cards for a very long time and we decided now was the time to follow our dream,” she said.

Located above Woolworths at the Noordheuwel shopping centre, the gym is open from Monday to Friday from 5am to 8pm, and on Saturdays from 7am to 1pm.

She explained that clients can come for personal training or just to train on their own.

Our aim is to help people train the right way, whether you are young or old. We want to create an environment for people to feel they belong to a network and show them that fitness is enjoyable.”

The gym officially opened on Saturday, 16 January, and clients from as far as Wilgeheuwel and Linden came to train with them.

Jacqueline said whether you want to lose weight, get fit, gym for a healthier lifestyle or compete, their gym is the place to be.

“We want our clients to reach their goals, whatever they may be. At Supreme Being we are goal-driven and strive for results.”

The gym also has an app called Supreme Being Fitness, that can be downloaded if you prefer online classes.
