And the Solve It Squad winner for December is …

The seven-year-old is the Book Centre and Krugersdorp News Solve It Squad winner for December.

The News is happy to welcome Phetogo Moremedi to the list of Solve It Squad winners!

Grade 2 learner Phetogo from Krugersdorp was handed a Krugersdorp News page one day late in December. Her eyes lit up when she saw the colourful figures and games to play spread out over the page.

This was the Christmas edition of the Solve It Squad competition, sponsored by the Book Centre located at 22 Eloff Street, where children got the chance to solve a few brain teasers and send in the results to stand a chance to win a prize.

Phetogo was excited to get started and firstly helped Santa find his way through a maze to deliver his presents. She then looked for and circled all the Christmas-themed words in the word search section, which she said was very easy for her to do, before quickly completing the image match game and a 6×6 Sudoku puzzle, doing everything in pen just to show off how good she was at these kinds of games.

After handing in her entry form at the Book Centre, Phetogo went to enjoy her festive season. In January, her grandmother received the call and both of them reacted with a yell of happiness when she was told she had won.

Book Centre’s Sally Purdy handed over a packet filled with stationery for her new school year with a few notebooks and colouring books and more.
