Parents and learners of Monument Primary need not worry as principal, Mark Moore, said the school is excited and ready to have the learners back.
Moore explained that even though schools will open officially only on 15 February, they will be starting with some revision on 1 February.
He said the school has a drive where parents can download the work to get children started and mentally stimulated before they return.
The school has a set out strategy regarding the return of their learners. They are sticking to the protocols they already had in place last year to ensure the children are safe and looked after.
Moore added that parents can help by familiarising their children with Microsoft Teams but they do not need to stress. He explained the school has a support email address where parents can ask questions or just reach out to their child’s teacher. But the school will be there to lead parents and teachers into the new way of doing things.
“No child will be left behind, we will cater for all children on their return to school. We have a plan to ensure that we, in conjunction with the Department of Education, cover the syllabus. We are really excited to get back to school and see the children again. Although we have the Covid-19 protocols we can’t wait to see the smiles behind the masks.”
