Hekpoort Police welcome their new station commander

Captain Tebogo Kgomo promised to take on the challenge and work with the community to create a safer environment around Hekpoort.

The Hekpoort Police are very excited to introduce their new station commander, Captain Tebogo Kgomo.

On Monday, 22 February, the West Rand District Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana and management welcomed Kgomo after the previous Hekpoort Police station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Kgomotso Netshitangani was promoted and transferred to the Fochville Police Station.

Kekana discussed the crime pattern in the Hekpoort area and Kgomo was briefed by the Hekpoort Crime Information Management Analysis Centre (CIMAC) officer, Sergeant Thandeka Khuse, who also discussed the crime pattern and outlined the hotspot areas.

Kekana wished Kgomo good luck with her new position and encouraged her to do her best to help reduce crime in Hekpoort, especially stock theft and burglary, which seem to be on the rise on the West Rand.

Kgomo also promised to take on the challenge and work with the community to create a safer environment around Hekpoort.

She called on the community to visit her office if they have any questions or need clarification, and encouraged them to report any criminal activity they witness.

Kgomo joined the police in 1993 and has a Bachelor’s degree in Police Practice. She has served in different policing areas including Muldersdrift, Khutsong, Fochville, Randfontein, Tarlton and Kagiso.
