Lieutenant Colonel Vuma is the new Magaliesburg Police station commander
The Magaliesburg Police have welcomed their new station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mawela Vuma who has invited the community to join him in the fight against crime.
On Monday, 15 February, the Magaliesburg Police welcomed a new station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mawela Vuma.
Vuma took over from the acting station commander, Captain Irene Tshikovhi, who was also introduced as the new Visible Policing commander of the Magaliesburg Police.
Vuma was updated on the crime trends, and Warrant Officer Ellis from the Magaliesburg Crime Information Management Analysis Centre (CIMAC) outlined the hotspots.
Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere from Magaliesburg Police Communications said Vuma is keen to take on the challenge and make Magaliesburg safer.
He also would like to encourage community members to report any criminals activities happening in the area,” said Mogwere.
Vuma joined the police in 1991, studied towards his BTech degree in Policing, and has a national Diploma in Police Administration. He worked at the Soweto Police’s Vehicle Safeguarding Camp 13 from 1992 to 1993, and later at the Moroka Police Station at the Community Service Centre and Crime Prevention Units.
