EPR crime report: 16 incidents in total – five include damage to property

EPR Security has released their incident report for the past week and say they believe the increase in visibility by law enforcement has led to a decrease in crime.

EPR Security said amid the unrest in the country last week minor incidents of damage to business properties in Kagiso were reported within their service area.

The security company released their latest incident report for the period between July 12 and 16, and in this time 16 incidents were reported to them. There were five incidents of damage to property – two of them in Kagiso.

Other incidents included four break-ins, two thefts, a robbery, a vehicle theft and trespassing.

EPR Security’s General Manager, Johan Krogh added, “We remain on high alert and request residents to remain calm but vigilant. It is clear that the increased visibility of the police, Community Policing Forms and security companies due to the potential unrest in the area led to a decrease in crime.”
