The World Monologue Games is a chance of a lifetime for many with an interest in showcasing their performing skills in front of a wide digital audience.
Those with the right kind of dramatic spirit and a way with words took on thousands of performers from multiple countries to take home the monologue gold this year.
Diego de Gouveia, a Grade 6 learner at Monument Primary threw his hat into the ring by submitting his video monologue, earning him a position in the World Monologue Games regional finals.

About his performance piece, The Elephant in the Room Diego said, “This is such a great piece! The script is about a son overhearing a conversation between his parents. it’s so funny and I love performing the different characters.”
Founder of the games Pete Malicki said, “It’s definitely special to have our second season in an Olympics year. We have the best performers from 51 countries all getting together to show the world what they’re made of. I’m not sure where else you can see such a diverse range of actors all in the same place.”
The regional finals will be live-streamed from August to October, with the winners of six different categories competing for $5 000 cash in the global finals.
