Various stakeholders visited the Alma Mater International School on Monday, September 13 to address learners about topics such as social ills, and encourage them to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Social Crime Prevention team from the Krugersdorp Police and its spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane were accompanied by members of the Department of Education, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), the West Rand District Department of Health, and Disaster Management.
Captain Sebonyane said they spoke to about 270 learners about social ills including teenage pregnancy, human trafficking, bullying, fighting and substance abuse.

“The learners were also encouraged to take a Covid-19 vaccine and reminded to continue to adhere to Covid-19 protocols.”
These include keeping a social distance of 1,5m, and washing their hands or using sanitizer regularly, even if they are vaccinated.
Learners were encouraged to report any criminal activities to the Krugersdorp Police immediately by contacting 011 951 1151 or using the Crime Stop Line on 08600 10111.
