One hundred and twenty Grade 12 learners joined a study camp in Magaliesburg recently.
Magaliesburg Police spokesperson Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere said the camp was hosted to help the learners prepare for the upcoming Grade 12 final exams.

Welcoming the learners was Magaliesburg Police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Mawewe Vuma, who was joined by the crime prevention unit, West Rand District Tourism, teachers, community patrollers, community members and parents.
“Members joined efforts to ensure the safety of learners who walked passionately into the study camp to embark on the preparations for their matric final examinations,” Sergeant Mogwere said.
He added that each learner was searched to ensure that no illicit substances or dangerous weapons were brought in.
The theme of the camp was ‘We planted a seed in a fertile soil, today we are preparing to harvest the crop’.

During the camp the importance of being in Grade 12 and thus working twice as hard, was highlighted.
“The purpose of the camping programme was to motivate learners to study smart and do their best in their upcoming examinations.”
Sergeant Mogwere said the Magaliesburg Police officers would constantly be patrolling at the study camp to ensure learners were safe.
