Three arrested with stolen motorbikes, computer equipment

The West Rand District Police arrested three people on suspicion of stealing two motorbikes and computer equipment last week.

Police in the West Rand District arrested three people suspected of stealing two motorbikes and computer equipment in Carletonville on Thursday October 7.

West Rand District Police spokesperson Captain Eddie Boboko said police were tipped off during a crime-awareness campaign in Extension 3 and were told that goods were hidden in a shack at the Chris Hani informal settlement.

The three suspects will also face charges of housebreaking and theft that is being investigated by the Carletonville Detectives. They will appear in the Khutsong Magistrates’ Court soon,” Captain Boboko said.

Carletonville Police station commander Colonel Melinda Prinsloo said she was impressed by the police’s response to the tip-off and welcomed the arrests.

Colonel Prinsloo also thanked the community members who took heed of the call to partner with the police to eradicate crime.
