Four arrested for sitting in a hijacked vehicle

When police noticed suspicious behaviour they caught four alleged hijackers.

Four suspicious people were caught by the Kagiso Police recently and arrested for hijacking.

In a statement, Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya explained that while crime-prevention members were patrolling in Zulu Jump on Friday, October 6 at about 22:00 as part of their crime-prevention initiatives they came upon a suspicious-looking vehicle with four occupants.

The vehicle had two different registration numbers, which made the police members more suspicious.”

Sibiya explained that the members approached the occupants and asked them why they were standing there at that time of the night.

When they asked who the rightful owner of the vehicle was, the occupants failed to reply. The police’s preliminary investigations then revealed that the vehicle had been reported hijacked in Katlehong North.

All four suspects were arrested and later detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of possession of a hijacked motor vehicle was opened.”

The suspects will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
