Ammo found in suspicious vehicle

When two police sergeants noticed a suspicious vehicle they stopped and searched it, which led to the discovery of ammunition.

The police have arrested a 45-year-old man after he was found in possession ammunition.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane explained that Sergeants Butie Sithole and Foster Baloyi were busy with patrols around Krugersdorp at about 11:25 on Monday, November 22 when they noticed a suspicious silver Mercedes-Benz in Ockerse Street. They stopped and searched the vehicle.

They found 70 x .22 rounds of ammunition, one magazine and a pocket knife,” Captain Sebonyane said.

The driver of the vehicle was also unable to produce any documentation to prove that he was allowed to possess the ammunition.

“The man was then arrested for illegal possession of live ammunition and detained at the Krugersdorp Police Station cells.”
