As schools in town wrap up the school year, it’s important to look back and reward learners for their tireless work.
UniHigh West Rand held its annual prize-giving evening to celebrate their top achievers on Monday, November 29.
This annual ceremony rewards learners for their hard work throughout the academic year and prizes are awarded for the best achievers per subject as well as the most improved learners per subject per grade.
The guest speaker for the evening was Circuit Manager of the Gauteng West District Department of Education Ntutu Mathibe,” said communications representative for UniHigh Laricia Smith.
UniHigh’s principal Bekezela Soganile added, “Our open-door philosophy influences not only how we teach learners to identify and maximise their unique talents and skills in opening doors to their future, but also in how we respect each learner as an individual and invite them to honestly engage with us about all issues pertinent to their learning”.
The top achievers for 2021 were Kgothatso Samuel Morwe (Grade 10), Siphesihle Busisiwe Kumalo (Grade 11) and Yue Vidia Huang (Grade 12).
