Afternoon traffic brings robbers to a crashing halt

The News was on the scene where a light motor vehicle and a bakkie had collided earlier, and could report that no one was seriously injured.

According to reports a get-away vehicle collided with another vehicle. The News spoke to a man on scene who said that an unknown number of men had robbed people in Extension 8 in Kagiso. He had chased the robbers and when they got to the intersection the vehicles collided in the heavy traffic.

The passengers in the light motor vehicle, believed to be the get-away vehicle, jumped out and the driver was apprehended a short distance from the scene. The stolen property was found in the car.

All emergency services were on scene.

Road users were urged to avoid the area as traffic was backed up.
