The Unveiled Church in Ruimsig was abuzz with excitement and anticipation on Saturday February 26 for the crowning of Miss and Mrs Krugersdorp and Randfontein. The event started with a red carpet walk before the fashion show officially began, to the delight of the audience.

The show included categories such as Sustainable fashion; Plus/ curvy, and Petite. Good food and drinks flowed from the food stalls and bars.

Mrs Krugersdorp 2020, Nadine van Staden, who was also a judge, said “We have some super strong and amazing finalists this year, and I wish them all the best of luck”.

Karin Muller, who ultimately took the crown as Mrs Westrand shared her excitement after her win.

I am overjoyed and surprised. Obviously the journey had its obstacles but I overcame them. This is a wonderful journey that has pushed me out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t easy and I truly surprised myself.”

She said she plans on tackling poverty in her community and looks forward to launching projects towards that cause soon.

“I can’t reveal too much at the moment but I am hoping to launch the project in the next couple of months, around April.”
