Mark Moore is a principal of note, having made his mark on the teaching landscape of Krugersdorp during a successful career of just over 30 years.

Having made an impact at various schools over the years, Mark recently found a happy home at the Avianto Estate Private School and has been standing at the helm of the primary school since February, ready to steer the school through both calm and troubled waters.

When I first came to the school I felt quite isolated here in the Cradle area, but getting to know everybody it now feels just like a second home,” Mark said.

He explained that he has an ever-growing passion for teaching children, especially creating an environment where children can grow and reach their full potential, and where they can make mistakes and learn from them in a safe and supportive space.

Mark said he had come to realise that, “Only if I know each child’s name and their dreams, I can expect my staff to do the same.

“Avianto has an integrated curriculum in our pre-school from 18 months to Grade 0. Our children learn through authentic imaginative play using Montessori-inspired equipment, and they explore a beautiful Reggio Emilia-inspired environment. Our primary school, from Grades 1 to 7, is inspired by our main value system of kindness, self-discipline, respect, courage and honesty, where each child is given the opportunity to discover who he or she uniquely is. This value system prepares our children for the ridges of high school, enabling them to make informed decisions with these essential set of life skills.”

Mark now leads an exceptional hand-picked team and is looking forward to working alongside them to equip the leaders of tomorrow with 21st century skills.
