A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Magaliesburg Police for being in possession of suspected stolen livestock early on Monday morning, March 21.
Their spokesperson Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere said the arrest was made at about 01:30 during a stop-and-search.
“Sergeants Mphaya Maluga, Elizabeth Lephuthing and Sam Nhlapo spotted a white Isuzu bakkie travelling on the R24-Rustenburg Road and stopped it at Seekoeihoek in Magaliesburg.
They found six goats in the back of the bakkie. Preliminary investigations revealed that the goats were stolen in Rustenburg, and investigations are ongoing.”
The suspect is set to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
Magaliesburg Police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Mawewe Vuma applauded the three officers for their vigilance and acting swiftly.
