LETTER: Is the richest man on earth really happy?
If you have what money cannot buy, you are beyond rich. Family, friends, food and faith – local pastor.
• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:
This South African born Elon Musk has become the richest man on earth. He is worth trillions of rands. Surely, he is the perfect picture of success.
Can you imagine going to the ATM and requesting your account balance to be printed out. Trillions of rands.
But I ask myself, is Elon Musk really a success and more importantly, is he happy? Half a dozen failed marriages, a dozen or so children with an absent father. If you cannot imagine that much money, you will not be able to imagine so much pain that comes with it.
True success is finding out where you come from, where you are going and why you are here. In short, knowing your purpose in existence.
Without a doubt in my mind, I believe you and I may be richer than even Elon Musk. If you have what money cannot buy, you are beyond rich. Family, friends, food and faith.
It is not the car you drive or the house you live in, it is what lives in you. Elon Musk may be a poor man living under the breadline.
“Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”
