Cops address 360 learners after ‘bullying incident’
At least 360 learners of Krugersdorp Town School were addressed following an alleged bullying incident, local police said.
The Krugersdorp Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit visited Krugersdorp Town School on Tuesday, May 3 following an alleged bullying incident.
According to Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane, 360 learners from Grade 4 and up were addressed about bullying, sexual harassment, fighting and stealing.

The visit came after it was alleged that Grade 7 learners were bullying other learners at school.
The learners were also told to refrain from posting anything that might cause any harm to the reputation of fellow learners or the school.
“Learners were given the opportunity to ask questions and encouraged to report any criminal activities immediately to the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or to contact the Crime Stop Line on 08600 10111. Information may be communicated also via the My SAPS app or the SMS number 32211 and remain anonymous.”
Freddie Welkom, the school principal thanked the team for honouring the invitation to address the learners.
Furthermore the parents were requested to attend the parents meetings whenever the school requested them to do so.
